The quiet place in the forest for those who love sceanery.

Seethawaka Botanical Garden, established in 2014 in Ilukovita near Avissawella, was developed by Sri Lanka’s Department of National Botanic Gardens to conserve rare and endangered wet zone plant species, especially those from the Sinharaja rainforest. Spanning 79 acres, the garden stands on historic land once part of the Seethawaka Kingdom and now serves as a sanctuary for biodiversity and human wellness. With its serene lakes, shaded walking paths, and lush plant life, the garden offers more than botanical beauty—it provides a peaceful retreat where visitors can relax, reconnect with nature, and gently heal both body and mind.
